Hong Kong's index of industrial production for manufacturing industries increased 2.3% year over year in the second quarter of 2026, down from a 3.1% expansion in Q1, the Census and Statistics Department said on Monday.
By major sector, output volume was driven by a 3.8% rise in the metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment industry, while the paper products, printing and reproduction of recorded media industry grew by 2.8%.
Conversely, output in the food, beverages and tobacco industry fell 4% from the same period last year.
On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, industrial production for manufacturing industries as a whole increased 0.2%, the data showed.
