The volume of Hong Kong's total exports of goods increased 32.3% year over year in April, according to final data from the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) released Tuesday.
The volume of imports of goods rose 34% from a year earlier.
Over the same period, export prices increased 8.1% year over year, while import prices grew 8%. This placed the terms of trade index, or the ratio of the export price index to the import price index, unchanged compared with the same month last year.
By destination, total export volume to Taiwan climbed 61.7%, while shipments to Vietnam increased 55.9%.
On the supplier side, the volume of imports from South Korea rose 86.2%, while arrivals from Vietnam climbed 81.4% year over year.
