Green Canada Uranium Secures TSX Venture Listing Approval

Green Canada Uranium, formerly MAACKK Capital, said Friday afternoon that it has received final approval from the TSX Venture Exchange to list its common shares.

The company's shares are set to begin trading on Sept. 9 under the ticker GCUC, it added.

Green Canada Uranium owns 100% of the Marshall Project and has the exclusive right to negotiate an earn-in option for up to a 51% stake in the North Millennium Project. Both are located in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, according to the statement.

AGF Management (AGF-B.TO) Thursday after trade said total assets under management (AUM) and fee-earning assets jumped 31% year over year to CA$74.2 billion as at Aug. 31.This was 1.2% lower than the CA$75.1 billion that was reported on July 31, the company said.AGF shares closed up CA$0.90 at CA$21.61 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Definity Financial Estimates a CA$130 Million Hit From July-August Catastrophe Losses

Definity Financial (DFY.TO) said Thursday it expects catastrophe losses in July and August to reduce underwriting income by about CA$130 million net of reinsurance recoveries.It equals CA$0.79 per share after taxes and reinsurance, the company said.The losses are due to severe rainstorms and flooding in Ontario and Alberta in July, as well as flooding in Ontario and wildfires in British Columbia in August.Definity said its third-quarter catastrophe losses so far are "trending meaningfully" above the full-quarter market consensus estimate of CA$93 million. The company plans to provide a finalized update for the quarter in the first half of October.The company's shares closed down CA$1.29 to CA$73.65 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
