First Mining Gold (FF.TO) has been informed by Chiefs and Councils of Cat Lake First Nation (CLFN) and Lac Seul First Nation (LSFN) that the Nations authorized the Springpole project subject to important terms, following the completion of the Anishnaabe Led Impact Assessment (ALIA) Process for the Springpole Gold project undertaken by CLFN and LSFN, it said on Tuesday.
Informed by the ALIA, there are 35 negotiated terms secured in the term sheet agreement. The project authorization by Cat Lake and Lac Seul Chiefs and Councils is conditional on finalizing the term sheet agreement into a binding Springpole project agreement, it said.
In another press release, CLFN said it finalized a landmark agreement to mobilize development of an all-season access road to CLFN in northwestern Ontario with First Mining Gold. First Mining has committed up to $4 million to directly fund road permitting, right-of-way clearing, geotechnical fieldwork, and detailed engineering design to start in summer 2026, it said.
Shares of First Mining Gold closed up 9.1% at $0.48 on Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
