First Mining Gold (FF.TO) was added to the MVIS Global Junior Gold Miners Index, the underlying benchmark index for the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ), it said Monday.
The company's inclusion will be effective at the close of trading on Sept.18, the company said.
"We believe our inclusion in the GDXJ will enhance First Mining's visibility among institutional and retail investors, improve trading liquidity, and increase our exposure to global capital markets as we continue to advance our gold projects in Ontario and Quebec," said Chief Executive Officer Dan Wilton.
First Mining shares closed down CA$0.005 to CA$0.895 Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
