European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking slightly lower Thursday morning, declining 0.09% to 1,909.48 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by accommodations booking site trivago (TRVG) and petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which rose 3.1% and 2.2%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm argenx (ARGX) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk (NVO), which were up 1.5% and 1.3%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (FOCL) and telecommunications company Nokia (NOK), which fell 4.2% and 3.8%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies DBV Technologies (DBVT) and Cellectis (CLLS), which were down 2.6% and 2.1%, respectively.
The gainers from the UK were led by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which climbed 7.2% and 1.9%, respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL) and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD), which advanced 1.3% each.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by software firm Endava (DAVA) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which lost 11% and 4.4%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO), which dropped 19% and 1.3%, respectively.
