European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Drop in Friday Trading
European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were heading lower late Friday morning, declining 0.89% to 1,913.67 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index, which is down 1% for the week so far.From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and biotech firm Evaxion (EVAX), which advanced 4.8% and 1.7% respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which were up 0.5% and 0.4% respectively.The decliners from continental Europe were led by accommodations booking site trivago (TRVG) and lender Banco Santander (SAN), which shed 6.3% and 3% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT), which lost 2.7% and 2.3% respectively.The gainers from the UK were led by biopharmaceutical companies Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and NuCana (NCNA), which rose 5% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) and communications company WPP (WPP), which were up 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD), which fell 4% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK), which were down 3% each respectively.
