Equinox Gold (EQX.TO) and Orla Mining (OLA.TO) have completed their merger, creating a new senior gold producer with an expected production of about 1.1 million ounces of gold per year.
The combined company expects to ramp up to more than 1.9 million ounces of production through North American growth projects, the companies said Friday.
At deal closing, Ross Beaty stepped down as board chairman and has been named chairman emeritus and special advisor to the board. Chuck Jeannes was appointed incoming board chairman.
Equinox Gold plans to delist Orla shares from the Toronto Stock Exchange and NYSE American Stock Exchange.
