Equinor's (EQNR) East Point Energy unit has begun operations at Citrus Flatts, its largest energy storage project in the US, a key step toward building scalable operations in the onshore power industry.
Citrus Flatts brings the tally to five battery storage facilities in commercial production in four years, the company said Thursday.
The move marks East Point's progression from developer to independent power producer, in line with Equinor's strategy to capture value across the value chain, the company said.
