China's consumer market continued to grow in the first eight months, with smart-glasses sales on major online platforms more than doubling from a year earlier.

Tourism, cultural and recreational services saw particularly strong demand during the summer travel season, highlighting a broader shift toward spending on both goods and services.
Sales of petroleum products declined 6.1% over the period amid the growing use of new-energy alternatives, the ministry said.
