New home prices in China's 70 major cities decreased 3% year over year in August, according to Trading Economics' calculation of data from the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.
The reading compared with the 3.2% drop recorded in the previous month. Economists polled by Trading Economics predicted a 3.1% decrease in prices.
On a month-over-month basis, average new home prices edged down 0.1%, unchanged from the level seen in June and July.
