Alphabet's Google Chief Scientist Departs to Establish new AI Startup

Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google DeepMind and Google Research chief scientist Jeff Dean will leave the company to establish Discovery Loop that will focus on automating machine learning and engineering tasks, Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed in a X post Wednesday.

Pichai added that Google will support Dean's venture as a founding investor and cloud partner.

Dean said in a separate X post that he, along with Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le, will form the public benefit corporation with the primary goal to accelerate scientific discoveries.
