Market Chatter: Fire Reported at Saudi Aramco's Jazan Site Following Houthi Claim
Satellite images showed a fire at Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery after Yemen's Houthi movement claimed it attacked the facility over the weekend, Bloomberg reported Monday. The imagery appeared to show one storage tank burning and smoke rising from a nearby flare stack at the 400,000-barrel-a-day refinery. The report said the visible damage looked confined to part of the storage area, while the effect on operations remained uncertain. The Houthis said the weekend attacks on Jazan and Yanbu formed part of their response to Saudi restrictions on Yemeni ports, after the group announced plans last week to blockade the country.Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy and Saudi Aramco did not immediately reply to' request for comment.(Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
