Wall Financial Q1 Net Earnings, Revenue Lower

Wall Financial (WFC.TO) said over the weekend that first quarter net earnings and revenue both declined.The real estate company said net earnings attributable to shareholders for the quarter ended April 30, was $4.3 million or $0.13 per share compared with net income of $5.7 million or $0.18 per share in the same period last year.Stabilized earnings from rental apartment operations edged down from the previous year while earnings from the company's hotels were stable year over year, the company said.Total revenue also declined to $37.3 million, from $43.8 million over the same period.Wall Financial shares closed up $0.20 to $18.70 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday.

Wall Financial Renews Share Buyback Program

Wall Financial (WFC.TO) said Friday that the Toronto Stock Exchange has accepted its notice to renew its notice to buy back up to 630,210 shares.The normal course issuer bid will run from May 20, for one year.Under its previous bid, which expires on May 19, Wall Financial bought back 204,500 shares at a volume weighted average price of $15.78.Wall Financial shares closed up $1.19, to $17.19 on Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Wall Financial Reports Slightly Higher Q4 Earnings Even As Revenues Fall

Wall Financial (WFC.TO), a B.C. based real estate company, reported slightly higher earnings in the fourth quarter even as revenues declined, it said Friday.For the three months ended Jan. 31, the company recorded net earnings and comprehensive income attributable of $3.044 million or $0.10 per share compared to $3.016 million or $0.09 per share, a year earlier.Total revenue decreased to $36.1 million in the quarter versus $43.4 million, a year-ago.WFC said revenue and income from the rental apartment operations decreased compared to the prior year due a commercial tenant vacating the building in the prior year on the commencement of demolition and excavation for a new building. Earnings from the company's hotels increased due to lower operating costs. Revenues and earnings from development operations decreased due to fewer condominium unit sales in the current period.Shares of the company closed up 0.1% to $16 on Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
