Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (TYO:9104) posted a year-over-year increase in profit attributable to owners of the parent to 61.1 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 52.8 billion yen.The Japan-based shipping and transport company's net income per share increased to 177.44 yen from 152.66 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Friday.Revenues jumped to 731 billion yen from 433 billion yen in the year-ago period.For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company forecasts an attributable profit of 240 billion yen, net income per share of 698.27 yen, and revenues of 2.230 trillion yen.The company plans to pay a second-quarter dividend of 100 yen per share for the current fiscal year.

Mitsui OSK Lines Raises Fiscal Year Earnings Forecast

Mitsui OSK Lines (TYO:9104) has revised its forecast for first-half profit attributable to owners of the company to 137 billion yen, up 77.9% from 77 billion yen previously, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.The shipping and transport company now expects earnings per share of 398.66 yen, up from 224.10 yen previously for the six months ending September 30.The revenue forecast was increased to 1.235 trillion yen from 1.100 trillion yen.For the full year, the forecast for the profit attributable is revised upward to 240 billion yen, up 41.2% from 170 billion yen previously.The earnings per share for the fiscal year ending March 31 is expected to be 698.27 yen, up from 494.77 yen. Revenue is expected to be 2.230 trillion yen up from 2.040 trillion yen previously projected.The revision was due to market conditions in the dry bulk business, energy business, and chemical logistics business, which are above the expected levels.

Mitsui OSK Lines Commits $300 Million to Delfin Offshore LNG Project

Mitsui OSK Lines (TYO:9104) is investing $300 million, equivalent to about 23% of the $1.4 billion total equity contribution, after making a final investment decision to participate in the Delfin FLNG 1 offshore liquefied natural gas project.The US-based facility aims to produce 4.4 million tons of LNG annually and is expected to start production in 2030, according to a statement on Thursday.The project has secured all necessary permits and long-term LNG offtake agreements with Vitol, Gunvor, Centrica, and Expand Energy.With the final investment decision in place, Delfin FLNG 1 will move into the execution phase and sign a construction contract with Samsung Heavy Industries (KRX:010140).In addition to its equity investment, Mitsui OSK Lines will provide technical expertise drawn from its floating storage and regasification unit operations, as well as experience in ship-to-ship LNG transfers.

Lines' (TYO:9104) profit attributable to owners of the parent plunged nearly 50% to 213.3 billion yen for the fiscal year 2025 from 425.5 billion yen a year earlier.The shipping and transport company's net income per share declined to 618.80 yen from 1,184.45 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.Revenues rose 2.8% to 1.825 trillion yen for the full year ended March 31 from 1.775 trillion yen in the prior year.For the fiscal year 2026, the company expects net income of 170 billion yen, net income per share of 494.77 yen, and revenues of 2.04 trillion yen.Mitsui O.S.K. Lines plans to pay an interim dividend of 100 yen and a year-end dividend of 105 yen per share for the year, higher than the 85 yen interim and 115 yen year-end dividends paid in the year-ago period.
