SILITH, UMC Deliver First Mass-Produced Photonic IC Wafers
SILITH Technology (TPE:3311) and United Microelectronics or UMC (TPE:2303) have delivered the first batch of mass-produced photonic integrated circuit wafers from UMC's Singapore plant, according to a Monday news release.The milestone advances the companies' partnership to scale silicon photonics manufacturing for artificial intelligence infrastructure.The collaboration combines SILITH's photonics design expertise with UMC's 12-inch wafer manufacturing capacity and process capabilities to support high-volume production of SILITH's 1.6T silicon photonics platform.
