Taiwan Economic, Stock Market Optimism Rebounds in September: Cathay Survey
Public optimism toward Taiwan's economic outlook, local stock market, and risk appetite strengthened in September, according to a monthly survey by Cathay Financial (TPE:2882).The Taiwan stock market optimism index climbed to 49.1 this month, while the risk appetite index rose to 32.9. The large-ticket consumption willingness index also increased to 18.3.However, inflation remained a concern, with the public's average 2026 inflation expectation at 2.51%, compared with the government's 2.07% forecast.The survey was conducted between Sept. 1 and Sept. 7, and collected 14,187 valid responses.
