Research Alert: CFRA Lowers Rating On Shares Of Tempus Ai To Sell From Hold

CFRA, an independent research provider, has providedwith the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:We lower our 12-month price target to $47 from $59, applying a 4.7x EV/sales multiple to our 2027 estimates, a discount to TEM's 7.7x average forward multiple since IPO in 2024. We narrow our 2026 loss per share view by $0.01 to -$0.44 and widen 2027's by $0.05 to -$0.14. While we expect TEM to report positive operating income and EPS by 2028, it is possible that operational disruption, competitive losses, or other developments delay the company's path toward profitability and drive further operating losses. With macroeconomic headwinds pressuring the health care sector, we favor some of TEM's competitors over the near-term, including peers in life sciences tools/services as well as the health care services sub-industry, despite the company's significant growth expectations. We also note risks around reimbursement, with TEM deciding to meter its MRD testing volumes to wait for more favorable pricing dynamics, as well as uncertainties around the timing of FDA approvals for various tests.

CFRA, an independent research provider, has providedwith the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:Tempus AI reported Q1 2026 revenue of $348.1M (+36.1% Y/Y), beating the $345M consensus as both Diagnostics ($261.1M, +34.7%) and Data & Applications ($87.0M, +40.5%) segments delivered robust growth. Strong volume growth included 28% in Oncology testing, 54% in Hereditary following the Ambry Genetics acquisition in Q1 2025 (7% organic), and 500% in MRD testing to 6,500 tests performed. Following the strong beat, TEM raised 2026 revenue guidance to $1.59B-$1.60B (approximately 25% growth) while maintaining adjusted EBITDA guidance of $65M. Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Hold Rating On Tempus Ai

CFRA, an independent research provider, has providedwith the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:We cut our 12-month target to $59 from $60, a 5.7x EV/sales multiple to our 2027 estimate, below TEM's 10x average forward multiple since IPO in 2024. We narrow our 2026 loss per share view by $0.01 to -$0.45 and widen 2027's by $0.04 to -$0.09. TEM recently announced an agreement with Merck & Co. (MRK 117 ****) to support oncology research and drug development via TEM's datasets and AI capabilities within the Lens platform. This follows a similar announcement in March, when TEM expanded its partnership with Gilead Sciences (GILD 139 ****), an existing large biotech customer. While management commentary regarding these announcements in yesterday's Needham Healthcare Conference was encouraging, we do not see these as transformative for near-term financial performance. We still expect near 25% sales growth in 2026, along with TEM's first full-year of positive EBITDA, as testing volume growth and higher reimbursement levels underpin the longer-term path toward profitability (positive EPS expected by 2028).
