SIA Engineering (SGX:S59) and Safran Aircraft Engines agreed to form a joint venture in Singapore to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for CFM LEAP engines, according to a Friday bourse filing.Safran Aircraft Engines will own 51% of the venture, while SIA Engineering will hold the remaining 49%.The partners plan to invest up to $118 million in the venture, which will service LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines and expand maintenance capacity in the region.

Singapore shares closed marginally in positive territory Tuesday, proving resilient even as regional markets retreated on news that the U.S.-Iran ceasefire is nearing collapse.The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 4,915.15 and 4,953.04 throughout the day. SIA Engineering's (SGX:S59) profit attributable to owners rose to SG$85.6 million in the fiscal second half ended March 31 from SG$70.8 million a year earlier, according to a Tuesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.Earnings per share came in at SG$0.0762 compared with SG$0.0630 in the year-ago period.Revenue climbed year over year to SG$693.9 million from SG$668.9 million, backed by higher flight volumes and an increase in maintenance activity.The board recommended a final dividend of SG$0.085 per share for the period, which will be paid on Aug. 14.For fiscal 2026, the total dividend payout will be SG$0.11 per share, up from SG$0.09 per share a year earlier.Shares of the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul firm were up over 2% in Tuesday trading.
