Insilico Medicine, SK Biopharmaceuticals Strike $2.5 Billion AI Drug Discovery Pact
Insilico Medicine (HKG:3696) and SK Biopharmaceuticals (KRX:326030) have signed a drug discovery collaboration deal focused on neuroimmune disorders of the central nervous system, with a total potential value exceeding $2.5 billion, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing.Under the agreement, Insilico will use its artificial intelligence-powered Pharma.AI platform and drug discovery capabilities to identify and optimize drug candidates. Whereas, SK Biopharmaceuticals will lead late-stage development and commercialization, the filing said.Insilico is eligible to receive up to $18 million in upfront and near-term milestone payments. The total potential value of the deal exceeds $2.5 billion, including development, regulatory, and commercial milestones, as well as single-digit royalties on future product sales.The collaboration focuses on neuroimmune diseases and expands Insilico's use of AI-driven drug discovery technologies in central nervous system disorders.
