Bentley Systems, NXT BLD Launch AEC Software Startup Accelerator

Bentley Systems (BSY) and NXT BLD launched NXT Activate, a startup accelerator aimed at early-stage companies developing software for the architecture, engineering and construction sectors, the companies said Thursday.The program, initially seeded by Bentley Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Bentley Systems, will launch with a commitment of up to $3 million over three years to support startups focused on improving workflows and data silos across the AEC industry.NXT Activate will invest in cohorts of six to eight startups annually, beginning in autumn 2026. Each participating company may receive up to $200,000 in funding in exchange for a fixed equity stake, the companies said.Investment decisions for NXT Activate will be made jointly by a committee of the program's founding and investment members, while NXT BLD and AEC Magazine will maintain editorial independence from the program, the companies added, according to a joint statement.Price: $31.28, Change: $+0.03, Percent Change: +0.10%

Synopsys Supports NASA Artemis Program With Simulation Work

Synopsys (SNPS) said Tuesday it is working with the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration and partners to support the development of the Artemis program through simulation of spacesuit performance and lunar communications systems.Financial terms were not provided.The company and Electro Magnetic Applications were selected to study electrical charging effects on spacesuits exposed to lunar conditions, using simulation software and testing to assess risks to onboard systems, Synopsys said.The work includes evaluating materials and design configurations under simulated space environments, the company said.Synopsys said it is also collaborating with Cesium, part of Bentley Systems (BSY), and NASA to model communication networks on the Moon, including analysis of antenna performance and signal coverage using digital simulations.Shares of Synopsys and Bentley were up 2.4% and 2% respectively in early trading Tuesday.Price: $427.62, Change: $+9.85, Percent Change: +2.36%
