Global Lithium Resources (ASX:GL1) has secured regulatory approval for the mining development and closure proposal (MDCP) for its Manna lithium project in Western Australia, paving the way for accelerated project development, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.The approval enables early works and key infrastructure development for the integrated Manna-Nova strategy, supporting a 14-year mine plan with multiple open pits, tailings facilities, stockpiles, accommodation, and supporting infrastructure, per the filing.The milestone will help advance the company toward its final investment decision, scheduled for the fourth quarter, with first direct shipping ore anticipated in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 and initial 5.5% lithium oxide spodumene concentrate production expected by mid-2027, the filing added.

IGO Agrees to Divest Western Australia Nickel Operation to Global Lithium Resources for AU$7 Million; Shares Gain 3%

IGO (ASX:IGO) struck a deal to sell its Nova nickel operation in Western Australia to Global Lithium Resources (ASX:GL1) for AU$7 million, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.The consideration includes AU$3 million in cash, AU$2 million worth of Global Lithium shares, and AU$2 million of deferred cash payable 12 months from completion.The deal includes the Nova processing plant and associated infrastructure, alongside rehabilitation obligations linked to the operation, per the filing.Global Lithium plans to use the assets for the processing of pegmatite ore from its Manna lithium project, which sits about 170 kilometers away from Nova, per the filing. Global Lithium intends to start concentrate production from Nova in mid-2027.The Nova operation will no longer be core to IGO's business once it ceases nickel operations, the company said, adding that the deal is subject to regulatory approval.IGO shares gained 3% in recent Wednesday trade.

Global Lithium Resources (ASX:GL1) executed a binding term sheet with Jiangsu Lopal Tech., which provides for an equity investment of AU$7.3 million via a placement and an offtake prepayment of $75 million, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.Jiangsu Lopal will subscribe for 13.8 million fully paid ordinary shares in Global Lithium at an issue price of AU$0.52875 per share.Jiangsu Lopal will offtake 40% of Manna lithium project's annual actual production. The long-term offtake agreement has a 10-year term from the date of the first supply of product, with an option for Jiangsu Lopal to extend for a further four years.Global Lithium and its wholly-owned unit, MB Lithium, also entered into a separate binding tenements and mineral rights sale agreement with Lopal Tech Perth, a wholly-owned unit of Jiangsu Lopal, for the sale of Global Lithium's interest in its Marble Bar lithium project, in Western Australia, including certain non-core exploration tenements and associated lithium mineral rights, for a total consideration of nearly AU$14.9 million.
