X Bioscience (BKK:XBIO) said its first-quarter 2026 loss widened sharply from a year earlier, primarily due to impairment charges related to investments, goodwill, brands and software assets, according to a Monday Thailand Exchange filing.
The company said it impaired its investment in HOSHI, following uncertainty over the value of its restaurant business and accumulated losses, while also writing down goodwill and brand assets across several subsidiaries.
X Bioscience said it has suspended plans for a central kitchen project, divested its Kagonoya restaurant business and is shifting its core focus to the construction sector.
The company also plans to expand its food business through a 288-million-baht investment in Chokdee Dim Sum, which will become a new unit in the second quarter.
