Waste Connections (WCN.TO) slipped 1% in after-hours New York trading after the company on Wednesday reported adjusted earnings of $1.50 per share, up from $1.29 per share a year ago.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.36.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $2.56 billion, up from $2.41 billion in the year-ago period.
Analysts expected revenue of $2.53 billion.
The company updated its 2026 outlook. It expects revenue of $10.02 billion to $10.05 billion, net income of $1.169 billion to $1.173 billion, and adjusted EBITDA of $3.33 billion to $3.34 billion.
The guidance "assumes no change in the current economic environment or underlying economic trends," it added.
The company's shares were last seen down $1.62 to $166.28 after hours. They closed down C$1.06, or 0.5%, to C$236.19 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
