Village Farms International (VFF) said Wednesday that Christopher Woodward has been elected as chairman of the board of directors for the upcoming year.
Woodward will succeed John McLernon, who has been in the role since 2006 and will remain a member of the board, the company said.
Woodward previously was trustee of Hot House Growers, which is the company's predecessor in Canada, and is also a chair or director of multiple private and public companies, and charitable organizations, the company said.
Shares of Village Farms International were up 2.9% in Wednesday trading.
