Vermilion Energy (VET.TO) reported Q2 net earnings of C$0.88 per share, reversing from a net loss of C$1.51 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected C$0.49.
The company recorded average production of 125,789 barrels of equivalent per day (boe/d), compared with 136,002 boe/d a year ago.
For the third quarter, Vermilion expects production to average 116,000 to 118,000 boe/d.
The company declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.135 per share, payable Sept. 29 to shareholders of record on Sept. 15.
