US LNG exporter Venture Global (VG) entered an agreement on Wednesday to supply 820,000 tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas to German utility EnBW, the country's third-largest energy company, over the next five year.
This adds to their existing 2 million tonnes per annum in purchase agreements for 20 years, as Germany, along with the rest of Europe, is increasingly looking to strengthen its energy security.
Venture Global CEO Mike Sabel said its "dynamic marketing platform" uniquely positions it to provide steady supplies "across the short, medium, and long term."
