Google (GOOG) has expanded its clean energy portfolio in Finland through a ten-year power purchase agreement with Valorem Group, securing additional onshore wind generation from the Matkussaari facility.
Valorem Group said Wednesday it finalized a long-term PPA with Google for 97.3 megawatts of capacity from the Matkussaari wind farm in Finland.
Located in Kurikka, South Ostrobothnia, the 148.5-megawatt facility consists of 27 Nordex wind turbines and forms part of the broader 313.5-megawatt Viiatti project.
The ten-year, pay-as-produced contract supports Google's growing digital infrastructure in Finland while bolstering local grid reliability and carbon-free energy supply.
