Valeura Energy (VLE.TO) and its partner PTTEP Energy Development have taken a final investment decision to push through with an initial gas development at the Bussabong gas field offshore the Gulf of Thailand.
The project will be Valeura's first organic gas development in its Thailand portfolio, the company said Tuesday. It will have two gas wellhead platforms with 24 well slots each, tied in to processing infrastructure with a 9-kilometer sub-sea pipeline.
The project is fully funded with about $35 million spread over two years, plus about $20 million to $25 million for drilling 25 development wells. First production is expected by the end of 2028.
