The US dollar was mixed against its major trading partners early Tuesday -- up versus the yen and Canadian dollar, down versus the euro and pound -- ahead of the release of international trade data for June at 8:30 am ET and weekly Redbook same-store sales at 8:55 am ET.
Factory orders and job openings data for June and consumer sentiment data for August are all due to be released at 10:00 am ET.
The Atlanta Federal Reserve is expected to update its GDP nowcast estimate for Q3 around midday.

EUR/USD rose to 1.1514 from 1.1510 at the Monday US close but was below a level of 1.1526 at the same time Monday morning. There are no Eurozone data on Tuesday's schedule. The next European Central Bank meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10.
GBP/USD rose to 1.3445 from 1.3432 at the Monday US close but was below a level of 1.3462 at the same time Monday morning. There are no UK data on Tuesday's schedule. The next Bank of England meeting is scheduled for Sept. 17.
USD/JPY rose to 157.7133 from 156.9561 at the Monday US close and 156.8524 at the same time Monday morning. The Japanese monetary base fell faster on a year-over-year basis than expected in July, according to data released overnight. The next Bank of Japan meeting is scheduled for Sept. 17-18.
USD/CAD rose to 1.4046 from 1.4044 at the Monday US close and 1.4041 at the same time Monday morning. The Canadian trade balance for June is due to be released at 8:30 am ET, followed by Canadian manufacturing PMI for July at 9:30 am ET. The next Bank of Canada meeting is scheduled for Sept. 2.
