US Dollar Higher Against The Loonie, as Oil & Gold Prices Fall

The US dollar rose against the Canadian dollar on Monday afternoon, hovering near the highest level since early August.

The US dollar was last seen up 0.35% to CA$1.40432.

US 10-year treasury yields slipped slightly to 4.969%.

Comex gold futures for December edged down 1% to $4,380.30 per ounce.

Oil prices tumbled Monday afternoon on cautious hopes that President Trump might talk with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who will be in New York this week for the United Nations General Assembly, several outlets reported.

West Texas Intermediate October futures benchmark fell 4.8% to $95.51 per barrel. November Brent crude futures edged down 3.6% to $100.13 per barrel.

Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank (SHA:601825) issued bonds amounting to 4 billion yuan, according to a Shanghai bourse filing over the weekend.The lender's shares rose 1% during Monday's morning trade.The bonds were issued in two tranches. The first tranche is worth 3 billion yuan and has a coupon rate of 1.55% and the second tranche amounted to 1 billion yuan and has an initial coupon rate of 1.60%, which is linked to the one-year loan prime rate minus 140 basis points.Both tranches have a maturity of three years.

Bank of Beijing Raises 30 Billion Yuan Via Bond Issue

Bank of Beijing (SHA:601169) raised 30 billion yuan via the issue of the second tranche of its 2026 undated capital bonds.Proceeds will be used to replenish the additional Tier 1 capital, according to a weekend filing with the Shanghai bourse.The bonds have a coupon rate of 1.88% for the first five years, adjusted every five years.
