Update: UBS Group Accepts $7.93 Billion of Notes in Debt Tender Offers

UBS Group (UBS) has accepted $7.93 billion aggregate principal amount of notes in its cash tender offers for nine series of debt securities and upsized its maximum offer amount to about $5.85 billion from $4 billion, the company said Friday.

The offers expired at 5 pm ET Thursday, with settlement expected Monday.

The company said all maximum purchase notes that have been validly tendered by the expiration date have been accepted for purchase.

The accepted notes include securities denominated in US dollars, euros and British pounds, with maturities from 2028 through 2033, UBS said.

Legacy Credit Suisse debt on UBS' books has fallen to about $29 billion from about $90 billion at the time of the 2023 takeover, and the buyback is UBS' largest debt repurchase to date, according to a Bloomberg report.

UBS Group Prices Offers to Redeem Outstanding Credit Suisse-issued Senior Notes

UBS Group (UBSG.SW) on Thursday priced concurrent and separate offers to redeem nine series of Credit Suisse Group-issued outstanding senior notes.The offers cover 750 million pounds sterling of 7.375% notes due Sept. 7, 2033; $697.1 million of 6.442% notes due Aug. 11, 2028; and $2.25 billion of 4.282% notes due Jan. 9, 2028. The offers also include up to $4 billion of six other series of outstanding notes maturing in 2029, 2031 and 2033.The Swiss banking group will close the offer on Thursday afternoon, with settlement expected by Sept. 14.

Bank of Chongqing Issues 5 Billion Yuan Green Bonds

Bank of Chongqing (HKG:1963, SHA:601963) issued 5 billion yuan of three-year fixed-rate green bonds, according to a Friday filing with the Shanghai bourse.The bonds have a coupon rate of 1.59%. Proceeds will go to green projects, the filing said.
