Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google withdrew its bid to change the final judgment in its antitrust case with Epic Games, telling a California federal court it will allow US users to download third-party app stores within Google Play starting next week, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a late-Tuesday court filing.
"We've agreed with Epic to withdraw our motion to modify the US Court's injunction rather than prolonging this process which creates uncertainty for the ecosystem," a Google spokesperson told. "This allows us to focus on executing our recently announced global business model evolution to deliver greater app store choice, lower prices, and more opportunities for developers and users."
Epic didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from.
