Amazon (AMZN) Teamsters launched a one-day unfair labor practice strike Wednesday at the company's warehouse facility in Riverside, California, the union said in a release.
The Teamsters claimed the warehouse is Amazon's largest in the US, but the company disputed that claim, saying it is not the company's largest.
"Members of Teamsters Local 1932 were forced into a work stoppage to protest Amazon's illegal conduct and retaliation against workers advocating for safer working conditions," the Teamsters said.
"This demonstration by the Teamsters is another example of their continuing illegal efforts to intimidate workers, block entry and exit to our facilities, and interfere with our operations," Amazon Spokesperson Sam Stephenson said in a statement. "Our employees have the choice of whether or not to join a union. They always have."
