TotalEnergies, AMNI Take Final Investment Decision for Nigeria Gas Field

Oil supermajor TotalEnergies (TTE) and its partner AMNI have taken a positive final investment decision for the Ima gas field development in Nigeria, to provide supplies to Nigeria LNG's liquefaction plant, according to a statement Wednesday.

The gas field near Bonny Island will be connected to Nigeria LNG via a 22-kilometer pipeline. It is expected to have a plateau output of 350 million cubic feet per day, with production beginning in 2028, TotalEnergies said.

Production from the field will provide one-third of the feed to Nigeria LNG's Train 7, which is currently under construction. The expansion project will increase the plant's annual liquefaction capacity to 30 million tons from 22 mmt.

TotalEnergies said it serves as the operator of the Ima gas field and owns a 40% stake in the project. Nigerian company AMNI holds the remaining 60% interest.
