Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO) after trade Tuesday said it is investing up to CA$25 million over three years to support artificial intelligence development and adoption.
The bank added that the move is part of its broader five-year, CA$150 billion commitment to investment, growth and innovation in Canada.
The partnership brings together TD's Layer 6 AI research team and Cohere to explore practical uses of AI across the bank, with a focus on improving productivity, decision-making and client experiences, the company said.
"Areas of focus will include knowledge management with a focus on practical value, security and responsible adoption," the bank said.
Cohere experts will work alongside Layer 6 at the MaRS Discovery District to identify and develop high-value AI applications for TD, it added.
