Top cryptocurrencies fell Wednesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) lower but holding above the $78,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell 0.6% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.3%, the S&P 500 slumped 0.4%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.6%.
Bitcoin fell 0.2% to $78,226, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume fell 17.6% to $28.24 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 0.4% to $2,466.
XRP (XRP-USD) dropped 1%, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 1.4%, and Solana (SOL-USD) shed 0.4%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) declined 2.9%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) lost 2.4%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 0.2% in the past 24 hours to $2.67 trillion, with trading volume dropping 8.7% to $81 billion.
