Top Cryptocurrencies Fall; Bitcoin Drops Below $80,000

Top cryptocurrencies fell Wednesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) falling below the $80,000 level.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell almost 1.4% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 added 1.2%, the S&P 500 rose 0.8%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%.

Bitcoin fell 1.5% to $79,499, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume rose 6.1% to $33.76 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, fell 1.2% to $2,255.

XRP (XRP-USD) dropped 1.5%, BNB (BNB-USD) gained 1.3%, and Solana (SOL-USD) shed 4%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rose 2.7%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) lost 3%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.478% at 3 p.m. ET Wednesday, up from 4.462% Tuesday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.128% from 4.122%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 1.3% in the past 24 hours to $2.66 trillion, with trading volume declining 1.4% to $161.06 billion.

Arteris (AIP) reported a Q1 adjusted loss late Tuesday of $0.03 per diluted share, narrowing from the loss of $0.09 a year earlier.Four analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $0.07.Revenue in the three months ended March 31 rose to $22.9 million from $16.5 million a year earlier.Four analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $21 million.The company expects revenue of $23 million to $24 million in Q2 and $91 million to $95 million in the full year.
