Top cryptocurrencies fell Wednesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) dropping below $63,000.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell 2.9% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.1%, the S&P 500 declined 0.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1.1%.
Bitcoin fell 2.5% to $62,191, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume fell 14% to $27.9 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 2.9% to $1,737.
XRP (XRP-USD) lost 3%, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 2.9%, and Solana (SOL-USD) slumped 5.1%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) dropped 3%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) tumbled 5.7%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.565% at 3 p.m. ET Wednesday, up from 4.529% Tuesday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.308% from 4.255%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 2.3% in the past 24 hours to $2.14 trillion, with trading volume declining 6.1% to $70.8 billion.
