Top cryptocurrencies fell Tuesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) dropping below the $59,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell almost 2.7% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 rose 1.8%, the S&P 500 increased 0.8%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2%.
Bitcoin dropped 2.9% to $58,655, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume rose 0.3% to $32.31 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 2.9% to $1,575.
XRP (XRP-USD) dropped 2.8%, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 2.6%, and Solana (SOL-USD) lost 3.2%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) declined 2.3%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) shed 1.9%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.418% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, up from 4.374% Monday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.186% from 4.142%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 2.5% in the past 24 hours to $2.04 trillion, with trading volume decreasing 9.4% to $75.35 billion.
