Top Cryptocurrencies Decline; Bitcoin Drops Below $68,000 Level

Top cryptocurrencies were weaker Tuesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) falling below the $68,000 level.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell 6% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.5%, the S&P 500 added 0.2%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5%.

Bitcoin fell 5.8% to $67,274, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume rose 17.1% to $49.44 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 4.8% to $1,905.

XRP (XRP-USD) dropped 6.1%, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 5.3%, and Solana (SOL-USD) shed 6.7%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) dipped 6.3%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) lost 6.8%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.453% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, down from 4.473% Monday, while the five-year yield fell to 4.176% from 4.184%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 5.4% in the past 24 hours to $2.31 trillion, and trading volume increased 7.2% to $116.31 billion.

Dollar General Posts 'Solid' Q1, Truist Says
