Retail sales in Thailand fell 18.3% year over year in June, according to the Retail Sales Index (RSI) compiled by the Bank of Thailand and released on Monday.
The reading, compared with a 14.5% decrease recorded in the previous month and beat the 12% forecast by Trading Economics.
By broad product category, sales of non-durable goods, which include food, beverages, and pharmaceutical items in specialized stores, rose 2.5% year over year.
The durable goods subindex, tracking electronics, household appliances, and hardware components, registered a 3% increase.
