Thailand's foreign investment rose 73% to 154 billion baht in the five months through May, the kingdom's Department of Business Development said in a Tuesday release.
Investments from Singapore topped the list with 36.5 billion baht, China with 30 billion baht, and Japan with 27.2 billion baht, the department said.
During the five-month period, 528 foreign investors received permission to invest in the country, up 24% year over year from 426 permits.
The U.S. had 87 investors, followed by China with 85, and Singapore with 74 investors.
