Talisker Resources (TSK.TO) on Thursday said it will simplify the planned sorting circuit for the Bralorne gold project in British Columbia after releasing the results of a program that tested TOMRA's sorting technologies.
The results showed that TOMRA's x-ray transmission delivered a strong performance, but adding a downstream laser sorter was not economical for the project, Talisker said Thursday.
The company said adding a laser sorter into the sorting circuit would increase the mass of shipped material and dilute the overall grade of the sorted product.
"The ability to eliminate the laser sorter and save approximately 4 million Canadian dollars in capital costs, simplify the plant design and operations, and reduce operating costs further strengthens the economics of the Bralorne gold project," Chief Executive Officer Terry Harbort said.
The company's shares closed down CA$0.04, or 2.9%, to CA$1.34 Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
