Operating conditions across Taiwan's manufacturing sector expanded at a softer rate in July versus the previous month, with the headline S&P Global Taiwan Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) coming in at 55.1, according to data released on Monday.
The latest reading, which provides a gauge of factory sector conditions, fell slightly from the 55.2 recorded in the previous month.
A reading above 50 indicates an expansion in sector performance compared with the prior month, while a figure below signals a contraction.
The monthly momentum was driven by new orders, which rose at one of the sharpest rates in five years.
