Taiwan's consumer confidence index fell to 64.58 in July from 65.05 in June, according to data released Monday by National Central University's Taiwan Economic Development Research Center.
The reading missed the 65-point forecast tracked by Trading Economics.
The latest print reflects waning optimism regarding investment in stocks over the next six months, which saw the largest sub-index drop of 1.82 points to 28.08.
Other sub-indices, including domestic economic outlook, household economic situation, employment opportunities, purchase of durable goods, and price levels, decreased in July from June.
