Taiwan's broad money supply (M2) increased 7.83% year over year in May, while narrow money (M1B) rose 9.56%, according to central bank data released on Thursday.
Monthly, M2 expanded 1.12% and M1B grew 1.56%, Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) said.
The average growth rate for January to May stood at 6.12% for M2 and 7.67% for M1B.
The central bank also reported an annual increase of 9.36% in lending and investment of all monetary institutions in May, the data showed.
