The number of employed people in Switzerland grew by 0.8% year over year in the second quarter, the Federal Statistical Office said Tuesday.
The Swiss unemployment rate, as defined by the International Labour Organization, increased to 4.9% from 4.6% a year ago, according to the latest Swiss Labour Force Survey.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, Switzerland's quarterly unemployment rate was up to 5.1% from 5% in the previous quarter.
