Sun Pharma Wins South Africa Approval for Generic Semaglutide

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (NSE:SUNPHARMA, BOM:524715) has secured approval from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority to produce and market a generic semaglutide injection for adults with type 2 diabetes.

The company plans to launch the once-weekly injectable in South Africa in the coming days, according to a Wednesday filing on Indian bourses. The product will be offered as a pre-filled, multi-dose pen in two strengths.

Shares of the pharma company rose nearly 1% in recent trade.

China Southern Airlines Warns of Wider H1 Loss
