Stantec (STN.TO, STN) received the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) approval respecting an amendment of its normal course issuer bid (NCIB), it said in a statement on Tuesday.
The company amended the bid to increase the maximum number of common shares it may buy back for cancellation under the NCIB to 5.7-million from 2.3-million. The amended NCIB with the higher limit will start on Aug. 20, 2026, and cancel no later than March 11, 2027, it said.
Stantec had bought-back and cancelled, under the current bid as at Aug. 17, a total of 1.7-million common shares at a weighted average of C$103.43. The company's automatic share purchase plan remains in effect as previously approved by the TSX, it added.
US-listed shares of the company were last seen up 1.9% at $75.66 in pre-market trading.
